Home Care Aide Professional

About the Role
As a Home Care Aide at Chinese American Service League, you will play a pivotal role in delivering exceptional direct in-home services to our valued clients while adhering to their personalized Plans of Care. Your responsibilities will encompass a wide range of tasks, including personal care, meal preparation, housekeeping, and essential errands.
Your Key Responsibilities:
- Provide Direct In-Home Support:
- Develop meal plans and prepare nutritious meals for clients
- Conduct routine housekeeping tasks, maintaining a clean and safe living environment
- Assist with shopping and essential errands, ensuring clients' needs are met
- Aid in self-administered medication management, promoting independence
- Follow special diet plans as per the written Care Plan
- Assist with personal care tasks (e.g., bathing, dressing, grooming)
- Escort clients to medical facilities and essential appointments
- Observe and Report: Maintain vigilant observation of clients' functioning and promptly report any changes to your supervisor.
- Continuous Learning: Attend a minimum of 12 hours of in-service training annually, enhancing your skills and knowledge.
- Pre-Service Training: Complete 24 hours of pre-service training and obtain the training certificate.
Requirements
To excel in this role, you should have:
Education/Experience:
- High school diploma or GED
- At least one year of employment in a comparable human service capacity
- At least one year of experience in caring for a dependent child or adult family member
Skills/Knowledge:
- Proficiency in spoken and written Spanish (English is a plus)
- Basic knowledge and skills in housekeeping, food preparation, and personal care
- Familiarity with senior care
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Client-focused and committed to delivering exceptional customer service
Physical Demands:
- Ability to position and transfer clients weighing over 100 pounds
- Frequent sitting, standing, and walking for extended periods
- Occasional lifting, moving, and supporting participants or objects weighing over 25 pounds
- Sufficient physical, visual, hearing, and learning capabilities to perform essential functions
Estimated Salary Range: $45,000 - $60,000 per annum
