**Job Title:** Quantitative Risk Specialist

The Emerald Group is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Graduate Trainee Actuary to join our team in London. This is an exciting opportunity for a recent graduate with a numerical degree to develop their skills and knowledge in the field of actuarial science.

**Salary:** £40,000 - £60,000 per annum, depending on experience

**Job Description:**

As a Graduate Trainee Actuary, you will assist our team of actuaries and brokers in handling large data sets and combining industry metrics to build complex models. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing data and consulting with actuaries and brokers
  • Predicting risk and factors that affect loss liabilities and capital
  • Contributing to team meetings and overall team ethos
  • Delivering actuarial work in a clear, coherent, and consistent manner

**Required Skills and Qualifications:*

  • Bachelor's degree in actuarial science, economics, math, statistics, or related field
  • Some exemptions to actuarial exams, although we will also consider individuals who no longer wish to pursue the exams
  • Technical experience of working in pricing, reserving, or capital modeling
  • Coding experience using Python, R, SQL, VBA, or other comparable platforms
