About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Teaching Assistant to join our team at a special school in Taunton. As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) to achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide individualized support to students with SEN, including those with autism, speech and language delays, and learning difficulties.
  • Assist teachers in planning and delivering lessons, and contribute to the development of educational programs.
  • Work collaboratively with the teaching team to create a safe and supportive learning environment.
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues to ensure seamless support and progress.
  • Participate in staff meetings and contribute to the development of school policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • Experience working with students with SEN, preferably in a special school setting.
  • Knowledge of SEN, including autism, and social-emotional and mental health.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
