About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Care Assistant to join our team at St Monica Trust. As a key member of our care team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to our residents.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver day-to-day holistic care to residents, meeting their unique needs and preferences.
  • Assist with personal care, mobility needs, and medication administration as required.
  • Work collaboratively with volunteers, wellbeing coordinators, and therapy teams to provide engaging activities and promote resident well-being.
  • Build strong relationships with residents, their families, and other stakeholders, ensuring a person-centred approach to care.
  • Contribute to accurate record-keeping and regulatory compliance, ensuring the highest standards of care are maintained.
  • Participate in handovers, team meetings, and supervisions to ensure seamless care delivery and continuous improvement.
Requirements
  • Level 2 in Care (or equivalent qualification or experience) for Senior Care Assistants.
  • Ability to provide effective personal care with dignity, including assisting with nutrition, bathing, and toileting.
  • GCSE (or equivalent) level education in maths and English.
  • Confident use of IT and basic understanding of Word/Email.
  • Awareness of older people's needs and some understanding of dementia.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
  • Level 3 in Care (or willingness to work towards it) for Senior Care Assistants.
  • Experience working with older people, those with a disability, and/or dementia.
  • Experience in a nursing home, hospital, sheltered housing, or social care setting.
  • Knowledge of basic first aid, manual handling, and food and hygiene practices.
  • Awareness of regulations and frameworks established in the CQC Essential Standards of Quality and Safety and the Mental Capacity Act.
