Job Title: Senior Property Advisor

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Property Advisor to join our team at WSP. As a key member of our Corporate Real Estate (CRE) team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our real estate portfolio.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the completion of all real estate legal work within England and Wales, including new leases, agreements for lease, renewal leases, and other associated lease documents.
  • Instruct local solicitors for Scotland, Northern Ireland, and Ireland for more complex real estate legal work and liaise with the CRE team to ensure necessary instructions are received.
  • Complete basic real estate legal work within Scotland, Northern Ireland, and Ireland, including renewing low-value agreements on the same terms.
  • Assist the CRE team with real estate issues across the portfolio, including approaching landlords regarding potential works and resolving issues.
  • Compile key lease documents and a spreadsheet of all key information relating to acquisition properties.
  • Produce lease reports on all acquisition leases and deal with assignments of leases as needed.
  • Maintain a folder of current lease documents and produce lease reports for all leases.
  • Keep track of all upcoming lease dates and ensure the CRE team is informed well in advance.
  • Oversee data protection processes from the CRE perspective and keep the CRE Data Protection Policy updated.
  • Incorporate green clauses in new leases and renewal leases, raise environmental enquiries on new leasehold properties, and liaise with the WSP Facilities Management and Environmental Teams.
  • Ensure the WSP Delegation of Authority policy is fully complied with in respect of all legal real estate matters.
  • Assist the WSP accounts team with auditors' and other financial queries and provide advice on all legal property matters for the CRE team and WSP colleagues.
Requirements:
  • Qualified Solicitor practising in England and Wales specialising in commercial property/real estate.
  • Ability to work independently in terms of legal work and without input from other real estate solicitors.
  • Organisation and attention to detail imperative given the responsibility for ensuring all key lease dates are kept on top of.
  • Commercial mindset to spot opportunities arising from real estate matters.
