Senior Principal Designer & CDM Advisor Role

Bellrock Property and Facilities Management is seeking a highly skilled Senior Principal Designer & CDM Advisor to join our team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the health and safety of our clients and employees on construction sites.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver the Principal Designer role as defined under CDM 2015, including carrying out the CDM Advisor role to support the client.
  • Coordinate and cooperate with multiple team members, including designers, contractors, and other internal multidisciplinary team members, to ensure compliance with relevant duties.
  • Plan, manage, monitor, and coordinate pre-construction phases of projects to identify, eliminate, or control significant and foreseeable risks.
  • Work with clients to gather pre-construction information, assess its adequacy, identify gaps, and provide advice on how to fill them.
  • Manage multiple projects for key clients, particularly in the high-rise residential refurbishment, development, and commercial sector.
  • Attend client meetings, conduct H&S site inspections, and deliver high-quality reports within agreed deadlines.
  • Provide clear, concise, and practical Health and Safety advice, guidance, and coaching to project teams throughout all stages of the project.
  • Collate, prepare, and issue Health & Safety Files to clients.
  • Manage fees, invoicing, closing out appointments, and supporting debtor control.
  • Explore potential cross-sell opportunities across the wider Bellrock teams.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 10 years' experience in the construction industry with experience of CDM/Health and Safety issues in construction.
  • Excellent working knowledge and understanding of CDM 2015 and appropriate legislation.
  • Demonstrable previous experience in successfully delivering the Principal Designer and CDM Advisor roles in the residential refurbishment, development, and commercial sector.
  • NEBOSH Construction Certificate or equivalent.
  • Incorporated member of the Association for Project Safety (IMaPs) or equivalent.
  • Full and clean driver's license.
  • Willingness to travel to varied sites across London, Home Counties, and the Southeast.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
