Job Role: Support Worker - Learning Disabilities

Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and empathetic Support Worker to join our dynamic team at Glenholme. As a Support Worker, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional care and support to individuals with learning disabilities, enabling them to lead fulfilling and independent lives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Delivering person-centred care and support to individuals with learning disabilities, ensuring their physical, emotional, and social needs are met.
  • Assisting individuals with daily living activities, including personal care, meal preparation, and medication administration.
  • Promoting independence and empowering individuals to develop essential life skills.
  • Building strong relationships with service users, their families, and other healthcare professionals to ensure a holistic approach to care.
  • Supporting individuals in accessing educational, vocational, and recreational activities within the community.
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of care plans and progress reports.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with individuals with learning disabilities is highly desirable.
  • A compassionate and patient nature, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team, as well as independently.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and bank holidays.
  • A genuine passion for improving the lives of individuals with learning disabilities.
