Job Title: Senior Specialist Biomedical Scientist - Haematology

We are seeking an experienced HCPC Registered Senior Specialist Biomedical Scientist to join our Blood Transfusion Laboratory at University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the daily management, quality, and training within the Blood Transfusion department.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Supervise Biomedical Scientists, trainees, and MLAs, including training of junior staff completing their Registration & Specialist Portfolios.
  • Practice as a Senior Specialist HCPC Registered BMS to provide a high-quality service.
  • Apply professional judgement and utilise specialist skills and detailed scientific knowledge to provide a high-quality and timely result service.
About the Role:

This is an exciting opportunity to work in a busy and developing teaching hospital with a Level 1 trauma centre, neurosurgery, haematology, obstetrics, neonatology, paediatrics, cardiothoracics, orthopaedics, and other specialities. You will be part of a friendly team of Biomedical Scientists & support staff responsible for the daily management at the Royal Sussex County and Princess Royal sites.

Requirements:
  • HCPC Registration
  • Band 6 working in Haematology/Blood Transfusion
  • NHS Experience
  • Quality Qualification
  • FIBMS or Relevant MSc
  • Evidence of CPD
  • Management Qualification
