Job Title: Education Support Specialist for SEMH Students
Location: Bradford, West Yorkshire
Contract Type: Long Term
We are recruiting an Education Support Specialist to work at a school in Bradford that specialises in supporting students aged 4-14 years old with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs (SEMH). The successful candidate will have experience working alongside children with SEMH needs.
The working hours are Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 3:30pm, with some flexibility. The ideal candidate will have a patient and nurturing approach to supporting students with a wide range of abilities and needs.
Responsibilities:
- Support students with SEMH needs in a dynamic and inclusive classroom environment.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with teaching staff, therapists, and other support staff to ensure seamless collaboration.
- Assist in the development and implementation of individualised education plans to meet the diverse needs of students.
- Contribute to creating a safe and supportive learning environment that promotes social, emotional, and academic growth.
- Collaborate with teachers to adapt lesson plans and activities to meet the needs of students with SEMH.
Requirements:
- Experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs and challenging behaviours.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.
- A patient, nurturing approach to supporting students with a wide range of abilities and needs.
- Ability to adapt and respond to the dynamic and individual needs of students.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
