Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Triage Clinician to join our team at Norfolk Community Health and Care NHS Trust.

About the Role

The successful candidate will provide clinical leadership and oversight of the day-to-day triage operations, ensuring the effective allocation of patient referrals to appropriate services. You will work closely with referrers, patients, and other healthcare professionals to make informed decisions about patient care.

Main Responsibilities

  • Lead the triage team to ensure timely processing of referrals, using advanced clinical knowledge to prioritize patient needs.
  • Liaise with referrers and patients to inform decision-making processes, utilizing excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Develop and implement triage rotas to optimize resource utilization and ensure adequate staffing levels to meet fluctuating demands.
  • Use judgment skills to re-prioritize workload and delegate tasks as necessary, maintaining high standards of patient care.
  • Maintain accurate electronic records and contribute to service improvement initiatives based on experience and feedback from staff and service users.

Person Specification

  • Registered General Nurse with current NMC registration.
  • Assessor/Mentorship Preparation (ENB 998 or equivalent).
  • Experience working at a relevant level within the community setting.
  • Knowledge of additional specialist areas through in-house training and short courses.
