Job Overview

The Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an experienced Technical IT Support Specialist to join its team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing technical support and assistance to users of the Sunrise EPR system.

Key Responsibilities
  • You will serve as the first point of contact for users, offering guidance and advice to ensure a positive user experience.
  • Utilizing the trust's service management system (TOPdesk) and incoming telephone calls, you will efficiently resolve incidents, problems, and requests, keeping users informed of progress when necessary.
  • Maintaining awareness of and adherence to all trust and departmental standards, service agreements, policies, procedures, and working practices is crucial. This involves staying up-to-date with E-Learning and development opportunities and escalating or seeking advice when needed.
  • You will monitor task queues on TOPDesk daily, identifying unresolved jobs and either resolving them or escalating them to other members of the EPR/Digital Team for resolution based on complexity.
  • In the Live and Non-Live EPR Environments, you will replicate issues reported by users.
  • Creation and maintenance of knowledge documentation, SOPs, QRGs, and guides will support other members of the EPR/Digital team in resolving Sunrise EPR issues and drive a culture of continuous improvement and knowledge development.
  • You will configure and test BAU Changes to the Live and Non-Live EPR Environments, including building new wards, making small changes to clinical documentation, introducing new pathology tests, etc.
  • Working flexibly with all teams to achieve project delivery while improving patient care and outcomes, you will demonstrate a passion for continuous improvement and understanding of clinicians' challenges in an acute hospital setting.
  • You will provide in-office and on-the-ground support as required, including working out of hours/nights during new project and optimisation system implementations.
  • Supporting managers or senior managers with reasonable requests is also part of your duties.
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you must have relevant experience and skills, which will be assessed during the selection process. Please note that the salary range is £26,530 - £29,114 per annum, reflecting the job's demands and location in Gloucester.
