Join Our Team as a Consultant Psychiatrist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Psychiatrist to join our team at Neath Port Talbot Hospital. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will play a crucial role in developing and improving our mental health services.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of our patients and contribute to the development of our services. You will be responsible for providing high-quality clinical care, leading service improvement initiatives, and working closely with our management team to drive positive change.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert clinical care to patients with complex mental health needs
  • Lead service improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and experience
  • Collaborate with our management team to develop and implement new services and initiatives
  • Contribute to the development of our mental health strategy and service plans
  • Supervise and support junior staff to ensure high-quality care and training

Requirements
  • On Specialist Register with GMC as a specialist in General Adult Psychiatry or eligible for CCT within 6 months of date of interview
  • Teaching qualification/Higher qualification in medical education
  • Evidence of teaching and training of post/undergraduate clinical staff
  • Experience of working with management and clinical colleagues to improve a service
  • Development and commissioning of local mental health services
  • Experience of research in mental health
