Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist Opportunity in Oxfordshire

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Psychiatrist to join our Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) team in Oxfordshire. As a Consultant Psychiatrist, you will be responsible for providing clinical leadership and expertise to our multidisciplinary team, working closely with colleagues to deliver high-quality care to our service users.
The appointed Consultant will have responsibility for assessing new referrals, managing their case load, and providing clinical leadership to the team. You will also be expected to support and develop evidence-based practice and evaluation within the team, as well as lead and develop the team within a trust that is committed to compassionate leadership.
The ideal candidate will have experience of working in CAMHS, great interpersonal skills, and the ability to adapt and demonstrate new ways of working. You will be part of a well-resourced multidisciplinary team with very experienced fellow Consultants, and will have opportunities for clinical leadership, medical education, and supervision.

Key Responsibilities:
- Assess new cases and manage their case load working with other clinicians in the team.
- Support and develop evidence-based practice and evaluation within the team.
- Support team members with cases through consultation and joint working.
- Lead and develop the team within a trust that is committed to compassionate leadership.
- Liaise effectively with other services and agencies (education and social care).
- Manage mental health crises including use of the mental health act where appropriate.
- Support and enable appropriate admission and discharge of patients from inpatient units.
- Work with colleagues in the acute hospitals.
Requirements:
- Experience of working in CAMHS.
- Great interpersonal skills.
- Ability to adapt and demonstrate new ways of working.
- Senior medical leadership experience.
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues.
