About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Digital Midwife and Deputy Chief Nursing Information Officer to join our team at East and North Hertfordshire NHS Trust. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and forward-thinking individual to lead the development and adoption of digital technologies to support midwifery practice.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the development and implementation of digital strategies to improve patient outcomes and efficiency in midwifery services.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of digital technologies into midwifery practice.
  • Provide expert clinical advice and guidance to support the Trust's developments in digital technology.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with external agencies and partners to ensure effective collaboration and knowledge sharing.
  • Ensure midwifery adoption and engagement in the use of technology.
  • Work towards the ambitions of Better Births to evaluate the maternity IT system and its abilities to meet the recommendations.
Requirements
  • Registered Midwife with a strong clinical background.
  • First-level degree in a related healthcare field.
  • Evidence of a Master's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Teaching qualification.
  • CSO trained or willingness to undertake.
Desirable Criteria
  • Digital Health Leadership Course.
  • Post-Graduate management qualification and/or equivalent experience.
  • Project management qualification/experience.
Knowledge and Experience
  • In-depth understanding of national digital agenda relating to Maternity.
  • In-depth understanding of the relevance of high-quality data.
  • Up-to-date and evidence-based knowledge of current clinical and professional issues.
  • In-depth understanding of MSDS, CNST, MTP.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills relating to IT systems.
  • Experience in all care settings.
  • Experience in MDT working and experience at 8a Level.
Previous Experience and Skills
  • Advanced level skills in MS Word and Excel.
  • Demonstrable skills in teaching and assessing in all clinical areas.
  • Excellent written communication skills, report writing, and investigation skills.
  • Evidence of leadership skills.
