Senior Production Engineer - Manufacturing Leadership

Prodrive Advanced Technology (AT) operates across a wide range of industries, including automotive, defence, marine, and renewable energy. We specialise in the design, development, and integration of electromechanical control systems and mechanical system architectures for vehicles and other applications.

Our team is seeking an experienced Senior Production Engineer to lead the introduction of new production programmes from bid development to series production.

In this role, you will drive and co-ordinate the planning and delivery of the Operations teams, including Build, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, Planning, and Material Management, in a fast-paced and collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accountable for the introduction of new manufacturing programmes from bid development to series production, ensuring they deliver margin, quality, and schedule targets.
  • Define and implement production programme timing, including milestones, gateways, and build schedule.
  • Drive the Manufacturing deliverables by management and leadership of cross-functional teams.
  • Responsible for co-ordinating the Production quality planning and quality control team to comply with all project requirements.
  • Working with Programmes and Delivery team to define Production requirements for new products, including facility tooling, direct & indirect labour, and facility layout for prototype and production manufacture.
  • Responsible for resourcing planning for pre-production builds and production launch.
  • Lead design/manufacturing reviews and drive design teams to complete DFM to achieve build financial targets.

Requirements:

  • Engineering Degree or other relevant qualification.
  • Proven experience of managing large and small manufacturing teams from concept through to production via APQP principles and achievement of PPAP.
  • Technical proficiency in mechanical and electrical systems, with the ability to understand and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and specifications.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across different teams and levels of the organisation.
  • Experience in specification of new plant equipment and production tooling for low volume manufacture from conception to completion.
  • Experience of manufacturing process implementation and problem resolution with a focus on quality and continuous improvement.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify problems, analyse data, and implement effective solutions.
