Skilled Maintenance Technician Required for Scunthorpe Facility

We are seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team in Scunthorpe, UK. The successful candidate will have experience in mechanical engineering and be able to respond effectively to breakdowns.
The ideal candidate will possess strong problem-solving skills, a methodical approach, and the ability to work independently. They will also have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

As a Maintenance Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the reliability and serviceability of all machinery at our Scunthorpe facility.
You will be responsible for completing scheduled Planned Preventative Maintenance tasks, taking ownership of designated projects, and improving overall performance. You will also adhere to established processes and procedures, including the management and utilization of Engineering Stores parts.
In addition, you will supply maintenance engineering site cover for the manufacturing plant, ensuring optimum production performance. You will identify, communicate, and carry out area improvements in conjunction with the wider engineering team.
- Complete all scheduled Planned Preventative Maintenance tasks and take ownership of designated projects.
- Adhere to all established processes and procedures, including the management and utilization of Engineering Stores parts.
- Supply maintenance engineering site cover for the manufacturing plant to ensure optimum production performance.
- Identify, communicate, and carry out area improvements in conjunction with the wider engineering team.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Completing all required documentation in a timely and efficient manner, including shift report and Pirana work orders.
- Supporting Operations to ensure the equipment and facilities are always functioning correctly.
- Supporting Production where required to ensure the daily production plan is delivered in the right quantity, at the right time, and at the right quality.
- Providing expert in-house advice and support on engineering matters.
- Managing maintenance spares and supporting in controlling the maintenance budget.
- Responsible for all activities involving external contractors working on the site.
- Dealing with unscheduled and emergency maintenance work and breakdowns, including fault finding and necessary repair in a safe and timely manner.
To be considered for this role, you should ideally have experience in a packaging, manufacturing, or FMCG environment. A strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles and the ability to respond effectively to breakdowns are essential.
