Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons tailored to meet the needs of students with varying levels of ability, including those with Autism, ADHD, Down Syndrome, and physical disabilities.
- Create and maintain a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere that promotes emotional and social development alongside academic achievement.
- Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team, including therapists, SENCOs, and teaching assistants, to ensure each student receives the best possible support.
- Assess student progress and adapt teaching methods and interventions to meet individual needs.
- Provide pastoral care and emotional support to students, helping them build confidence and self-esteem.
Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with experience working in a special educational needs setting.
- Strong understanding of SEN codes of practice and personalised learning plans (EHCPs).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with students, parents, and other professionals.
- Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude towards children with special needs.
