Join our team at GSL Education as an Autism Support Worker and make a meaningful difference in the lives of students with Special Educational Needs (SEN). We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to provide one-on-one and small group support to students with SEN, including those within the Autism Unit.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide tailored support to students with SEN, including those with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
- Assist with the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and Behaviour Support Plans (BSPs).
- Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and other support staff to create a cohesive and inclusive learning environment.
- Foster independence, confidence, and self-esteem in students with SEN through personalised support and encouragement.
- Help students engage with the curriculum and participate in classroom activities to the best of their abilities.
- Support students in developing social skills and building positive relationships with peers.
- Experience working with SEN, particularly autism spectrum disorder (ASD), is desirable.
- A compassionate and patient demeanour, with a genuine passion for supporting the learning and development of students with diverse needs.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, parents, and external professionals.
- Relevant qualifications or training in special education, SEN support, or related fields are advantageous but not essential.
- A welcoming and inclusive school community committed to supporting both students and staff.
- Ongoing professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge in special education and SEN support.
