Lead CAD Designer Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Lead CAD Designer to join our team at ZipRecruiter. As a Lead CAD Designer, you will be responsible for leading a team of CAD designers in designing and developing innovative structural steel and architectural metalwork structures.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead a team of CAD designers in designing and developing structural steel and architectural metalwork structures
  • Use advanced CAD software, including Autodesk Advance Steel, to create and modify layout drawings and construction drawings
  • Translate structural engineers' specifications into 3D general arrangements (GA's)
  • Manage workflow, track performance, and ensure the delivery of CAD drawings for each project
  • Develop, improve, and maintain CAD processes within the department
Requirements:
  • Strong background in CAD design, with expertise in Advanced Steel or Tekla
  • Advanced experience with CAD design software, with at least 5 years of use
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with design architects, building contractors, and other stakeholders
  • Customer-focused mindset, with the ability to support the development of a team of CAD designers
