Job Title: Lead CAD Designer

First Achieve's Engineering Division is seeking a highly skilled Lead CAD Designer to join their team. As a key member of the Steels Department, you will be responsible for leading a team of CAD designers in designing bespoke structural and architectural metalwork structures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of CAD designers in developing innovative designs for structural and architectural metalwork structures.
  • Use advanced computer-aided design (CAD) software to create, modify, and finalize layout drawings, including custom and related construction drawings.
  • Translate structural engineers' specifications into 3D general arrangements (GA's) using Autodesk Advance Steel.
  • Establish and maintain an organized filing system for all drawings and templates to ensure easy access.
  • Collaborate effectively with design architects, building contractors, and other stakeholders to achieve project goals.

Requirements:

  • Strong background in CAD design, with expertise in Advanced Steel or Tekla, particularly in working with structural steel or related fields.
  • Advanced experience with CAD design software, with at least 5 years of use, or an equivalent degree or technical education.
  • Customer-focused mindset and ability to support the development of a team of CAD designers.
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and IT proficiency.
