We are seeking an ambitious and skilled Plant Engineering Assistant to join our team at Uniting People. As a key member of the mechanical department, you will be responsible for assisting with planned preventative maintenance checks and reactive breakdowns on various industrial equipment, including furnaces, sand mills, shot blasts, x-ray machines, quench furnaces, and cranes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist with routine maintenance tasks on electrical systems
  • Conduct fault finding on electrical systems
  • Work with the mechanical department to identify and resolve issues

The ideal candidate will have experience in an industrial environment and possess extensive knowledge of control systems. Strong organisational and time management skills are essential, as well as exceptional communication and organisational skills. A committed approach to the success of the team and business is also required.

Requirements:
  • Level 3 Electrical Engineering or similar qualification
  • 18th Edition certification (desirable)
  • PLC fault finding skills (desirable)
  • Industrial experience (2 years minimum)

Shift work will involve working 8 hour shifts, with a shift rotor (Days, Noons, Nights) schedule, including weekend availability and overtime.
