As an Operations Superintendent at Valaris, you will play a critical role in leading rig operations and ensuring the safety of our personnel and assets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Partner with Rig Managers to implement and maintain safety programs, conduct safety inspections, and investigate accidents.
  • Develop and implement personal development plans for Rig Managers to enhance their leadership skills.
  • Assist Rig Managers in reviewing and monitoring rig operating costs and reducing personnel attrition.
  • Participate in daily rig operations reviews and provide feedback to Rig Managers.
  • Conduct on-site inspections and audits to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with Business Development to provide strong customer support and make customer visits.
  • Share coaching and counseling responsibilities with Rig Managers on employee issues.
  • Participate in technical operations troubleshooting discussions with Rig and Operations managers.
  • Provide on-site support and assistance for rig moves, as directed by Operations Manager.
  • Assist Rig and Operations managers in capital and operating budget preparation.
  • Stay informed on governmental, union, labor, safety, and environmental rules and regulations that affect rig operations.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Minimum years of experience in an operations management function in a business of similar size and complexity.
  • Knowledge of internal controls and financial accounting, purchasing, and management systems.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel at an advanced level.
  • Working knowledge of document control systems and databases.
