Locum Consultant Obstetrician

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a locum consultant in obstetrics and gynaecology to join the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at North Middlesex University Hospital. This is an interim post initially for 12 months to cover maternity leave, providing a unique chance to make a real difference in a busy inner-city London university hospital.
Main DutiesThe successful candidate will take a full part in delivering the undergraduate curriculum, both to trainees and medical students attached to the department. They will also be expected to take a lead role in the department's clinical activities, including antenatal clinics, general gynaecology clinics, and rapid access clinics.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver high-quality patient care in obstetrics and gynaecology
- Participate in the department's clinical governance and audit activities
- Contribute to the development of the department's clinical policies and procedures
- Provide teaching and training to medical students and junior doctors
The ideal candidate will have:
- Full GMC registration
- Medical degree (MBBS or equivalent)
- MRCOG or equivalent specialist qualification
- CCT or eligibility for entry within 6 months of the date of AAC
- ATSM in advanced labour ward
The following qualifications and experience are desirable:
- Higher degree (MD or PhD)
- Broad general obstetrics and gynaecology experience
- Excellent clinical skills
