Vehicle Body Repairer

About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Vehicle Body Repairer to join our team at Alexander Dennis Limited. As a key member of our Aftermarket team, you will be responsible for carrying out vehicle repairs on both warranty and chargeable basis in the most cost-effective and efficient manner.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out processes on a range of Passenger Carrying vehicles, including preparation & assembly, construction, sub-assemblies, panelling & flooring.
- Prepare metal, plastic & fibreglass to a pre-paint standard, ensuring repairs are carried out efficiently and in the most cost-effective manner possible.
- Ensure compliance with all legislative laws and regulations, as well as the company's Health & Safety and ISO Quality policies and procedures.
- Interpret & implement Technical Service instruction data.
- Be reliable, flexible, self-motivated with a positive attitude to fellow workers and customers.
- Positively impact our customer by providing a high quality of work and service at all times.
Requirements:
- Experienced in Body Panel and ideally Mechanical repair of bus, coach and or similar commercial vehicles.
- Ability to work unsupervised, often to tight deadlines.
- Ability to demonstrate, understand and be compliant in vehicle maintenance procedures and VOSA standards.
- Experience in Gas, Electric, MIG and TIG welding.
- Experience in LGV / HGV and PSV carrying vehicles, if you hold vocational PSV or HGV licenses – even better.
- A full UK driving license would be an advantage for this role.
- A good understanding of Bus Coach and commercial vehicle systems as well as great knowledge of the various body/mechanical repairing techniques.
