Job Title: Vehicle Body Repairer

We are seeking an experienced Vehicle Body Repairer to join our team at Alexander Dennis, a leading manufacturer of buses and coaches. As a key member of our Aftermarket team, you will be responsible for carrying out vehicle repairs on both warranty and chargeable basis in the most cost-effective and efficient manner.

About the Role:
  • Carry out vehicle repairs, including preparation and assembly, construction, sub-assemblies, panelling and flooring.
  • Prepare metal, plastic and fibreglass to a pre-paint standard, ensuring repairs are carried out efficiently and in the most cost-effective manner possible.
  • Ensure compliance with all H.S.E legislative laws and regulations, as well as the company's Health & Safety and ISO Quality policies and procedures.
  • Interpret and implement Technical Service instruction data.
  • Be reliable, flexible and self-motivated with a positive attitude to fellow workers and customers.
About You:
  • Experienced in body panel and mechanical repair of bus, coach and similar commercial vehicles.
  • Practical experience in glass fibre repairs/refurbishment, structural framework repairs/refurbishment, body panel shaping, cutting and painting.
  • Ability to work unsupervised, often to tight deadlines.
  • Experience in gas, electric, MIG and TIG welding.
  • Experience in LGV/HGV and PSV carrying vehicles, with vocational PSV or HGV licenses an advantage.
  • Full UK driving license an advantage.
