Job Summary

The Estate Surveyor will report to the Manager and utilize their knowledge of landlord and tenant laws to ensure the Council estate is managed effectively. This includes undertaking property contact negotiations, instructing legal, and maintaining ongoing relationships to achieve corporate outcomes.

Key Duties/Accountabilities
  • Delivery of a case load as agreed with the Manager and with support from the Senior/Principal surveyor
  • Negotiation of rent reviews and calculations, lease and licence terms, and lease assignments
  • Management of lease assignments, licence for alternations, easements, wayleaves, and other general estate management contractual negotiations
Essential Experience Required

Property inspection, including basic building pathology, landlord and tenant experience, including lease renewals, rent reviews, assignments, VOA awareness, lettings, licences to alter, assignment, and changes of use, purchase and sale of land and property.

Essential Qualifications Required

Good standard of education and evidence of continuing professional development in property surveying or a similar discipline.

Additional Information

37.5 hours per week, 12 days in the office per week. Evidence of IT literacy, including a sound knowledge of tasks, systems, databases, etc. Proven ability to manage a range of conflicting work demands and pressures.
