Job Title: Equipment Maintenance and Repair Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of heavy-duty cargo material handling systems, ensuring their optimal performance and minimizing downtime.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conducting routine maintenance checks on material handling systems, including electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic components.
  • Diagnosing and troubleshooting electrical and mechanical issues.
  • Performing repairs and replacements of faulty parts as necessary.
  • Conducting preventative maintenance to prevent breakdowns and ensure continuous operation.
  • Responding promptly to equipment breakdowns and resolving issues efficiently to minimize downtime.
  • Collaborating with other team members and departments to ensure effective communication and coordination of maintenance activities.
  • Documenting maintenance activities and keeping accurate records of equipment performance and repairs.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience as a Maintenance Engineer, preferably with a focus on heavy-duty cargo material handling systems, conveyors or large capital/industrial equipment.
  • Relevant maintenance (Electrical or Mechanical) qualifications (e.g., NVQ Level 3 or equivalent).
  • Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills and the ability to read electrical schematics.
  • Experience with mechanical and hydraulic systems is advantageous.
  • Flexibility to participate in a 1 in 3 call-out rota.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with colleagues and clients.
  • Able to provide 5 years full working references for air-side clearance.
