Senior Technical Specialist Role

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Technical Specialist in Systems Engineering to join our team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on a high-profile programme for the Royal Navy and contribute to the success of BAE Systems.

About the Programme

The Type 26 Frigate programme is a major defence project that requires highly skilled engineers to deliver complex systems and solutions. As a member of our team, you will be working closely with customers and suppliers to ensure the successful delivery of the programme.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead systems engineering activities on the right-hand side of the engineering lifecycle V-Model, with a particular focus on testing, integration and commissioning.
  • Production of progress and quality reporting tools and metrics.
  • Act as the senior point of contact with customers and/or suppliers in assigned areas on engineering matters.
  • Provide help and direction to less experienced team members to support both their effective working and their development.
  • Maintaining a level of SQEP for the role through personal and professional development.

Your Skills and Experience

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A high level of understanding of the engineering lifecycle, with demonstrable 'hands-on' testing and integration experience.
  • A high level of understanding of systems engineering methodologies and practices.
  • Competence and capability with systems engineering tools.
  • Experience in a software, hardware and system delivery team.
