Job Description

Renesas Electronics is seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our team as an Application Engineer in the Power Management Solutions group. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing and validating best-in-class power solutions for cutting-edge digital power applications.

Responsibilities
  • Develop power loss models to aid device design in making parametric tradeoffs
  • Benchmark competitive products
  • Characterize power devices and complete power stage assemblies for AEC-Q100 Standard
  • Analyze power losses to provide insight to support smart driver designs
  • Develop test strategies to verify system level robustness of final designs
Qualifications
  • BS, MS, or Ph.D. in Engineering or technical equivalent and a minimum of 2 years experience in the power management industry
  • Understanding of power electronics, control theory, and Multi-phase DC/DC buck converter topology
  • Automotive power background and understanding of AEC-Q1xx Qualification is a plus
  • Programming skills using Labview or Python with Experience automating data collection
  • Experience modeling power converter losses and/or experience in power semiconductor characterization
  • Proficiency with ckt simulation and PCB CAD tools
  • Excellent lab based problem solving skills. Ability to follow data to root cause
