Job Title: Transport Planner

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Transport Planner to join our team at Great Bear. As a Transport Planner, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day planning of our transport operation, ensuring that our customers receive their goods on time and in good condition.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Plan and coordinate the movement of goods from multiple warehouse facilities and manufacturing sites across the UK.
  2. Manage daily workload for a fleet of vehicles, ensuring that they are utilized efficiently and effectively.
  3. Deal with customer queries and issues, providing cost-effective solutions and excellent customer service.
  4. Liaise with Traffic and Administration teams to ensure seamless communication and high standards of performance.
  5. Maintain and update spreadsheets and databases for customer reports, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
  6. Support the fleet and driver training team as required, ensuring that our drivers are trained to the highest standards.
  7. Complete pre and post-debrief for all driver shifts, ensuring that our drivers are aware of their responsibilities and that our customers receive the best possible service.

Requirements:

  1. Proven experience in transport planning, with a strong understanding of logistics and supply chain management.
  2. Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  3. Knowledge of SAP, BPCS, and Road Runner would be advantageous, but not essential.
