We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Children\u2019s Support Worker to join our team in Lydney, Gloucestershire. As a Children\u2019s Support Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting young people between the ages of 8-18 with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Encourage young people to participate in activities and take responsibility for their own lives.
  • Maintain a homely and friendly culture in the homes.
  • Deal with challenging behaviours when necessary.
  • Protect children and young people from risks to their health and welfare.
  • Provide support for the children and young people in the home and promote their independence and well-being.
  • Maintain a safe environment for young people.
  • Ensure the safety of the students and maintain an up-to-date knowledge of the individual\u2019s care plan, guidelines, reward system, and preferred method of communication.
  • Support taxing behaviour safely and sympathetically.
  • Develop and maintain good working relationships with staff, parents, Social Workers, and other professionals involved in the young people\u2019s lives.

Requirements:

  • Completed Level 3 QCF in Children & Young People desirable but not essential.
  • Experience within another healthcare or social care setting is desirable but not essential.
  • You must be a car driver as you will be required to transport young people from time to time.
  • You must be over the age of 21.
  • You must be able to commute to Lydney, Gloucestershire.
