We are seeking a highly skilled Credit Controller to join our Finance and Credit Control team at Birtwistles Food Group. As a Credit Controller, you will be responsible for managing a ledger of 500+ customers, ranging from sole traders to large hospitality chains.
Key Responsibilities:- Proactively recover payments for outstanding sales invoices as per the agreed terms
- Maintain accurate records of all chasing activity
- Prepare statements and provide customers with invoices and Proof of Delivery (PODs)
- Post and allocate sales receipts to the ledger
- Complete all electronic billing and credit requests in a timely manner
- Liaise with internal stakeholders to resolve queries
- Recommend accounts for escalation
- Check and scan PODs
- Process card payments
- Assist with reception duties as and when required
- Able to demonstrate experience within Credit Control
- Experience managing a Ledger
- Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
- Good IT skills and experience in Excel spreadsheets
- Enthusiastic in your approach towards work and keen to build customer relationships
- A good record of reliability in terms of attendance and punctuality
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Strong Excel experience (Pivot Tables/VLOOKUPs)
- Excellent negotiating skills
- Knowledge of Sage 200, Procure Wizard, Acquire & ITS
- Experience in B2B credit control
- Organised and capable of prioritising workload
- Friendly personality with the ability to be persistent when chasing payments whilst remaining pleasant and always determined
