About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Retail Technical Manager to lead our retailer food and near-food due diligence services within the Technical Services department at ALS Laboratories.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage a team to deliver excellent service to our key account clients.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for retailer clients, providing regular updates and support.
  • Oversee the monitoring, planning, and management of retailer due diligence work within the department.
  • Offer technical support to retailer clients on queries and projects as part of ALS' added value Consultancy services.
  • Collate necessary data and provide frequent updates to retailer clients.
About You:
  • A scientific background at degree level, preferably in Food Sciences or Nutrition Sciences.
  • Excellent organisational and project management skills.
  • A strong understanding of regulatory requirements within the food and near-food industry.
  • Leadership qualities with a hands-on, adaptable approach to managing and supporting a team.
  • Excellent communication skills to build rapport and foster strong client relationships.
  • Strong computer literacy skills and a keen attention to detail with a methodical approach.
  • A good understanding of the food industry, clients, and fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) requirements.
