Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced External Examiner to provide expert advice on programme and assessment design and delivery for our BTEC Higher National qualifications in Counselling and Applied Psychology.

The successful candidate will contribute to the quality enhancement of our delivery through external examiner sampling and visit activities, ensuring centres' compliance with our quality assurance expectations.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Undertaking sampling of assessed student work to establish outcomes are in accordance with Pearson standards
  • Providing sampling-related reports, feedback, and development advice to centres and Pearson
  • Producing quality assurance reports to Pearson on the sampling undertaken, outcomes reached, and support provided
  • Applying appropriate sanctions, in consultation with the Pearson team, where necessary to assure quality of learning, teaching, assessment, and professionalism

The ideal candidate will have a recognised qualification at or equivalent to FHEQ Level 6 and a recognised counselling qualification, with experience using technology to communicate with a variety of individuals and teams.
