About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Psychiatrist to join our team at Swansea Bay University Health Board. As a Consultant Psychiatrist, you will be responsible for providing clinical leadership and expertise in the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of patients with mental health conditions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical services, including the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of illness, in partnership with colleagues and the multi-professional team.
  • Have continuing responsibility for the well-being of all patients under your care, allowing for proper delegation to, and training of staff.
  • Participate in the clinical directorate structure and make a significant contribution to the service and directorate planning process.
  • Participate in the 1 in 20 on-call consultant rota across the Swansea Bay UHB area, with prospective cover.

Requirements
  • Registered with the GMC and licensed to practice.
  • On Specialist Register with GMC as a specialist in psychiatry or eligible for CCT within 6 months of date of interview.
  • Evidence of an ability to develop effective working relationships, on an individual and multi-disciplinary basis with all levels of staff.
  • Evidence of working with management and clinical colleagues to improve a service.
  • Evidence of teaching and training of post/undergraduate clinical staff.
