We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Clinical Endoscopist Trainee to join our team at Bedfordshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. As a Clinical Endoscopist Trainee, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality endoscopy services to our patients.
Key Responsibilities- Take responsibility for the clinical management of patients during procedures, including pre-procedure assessment, the procedure itself, and recovery.
- Obtain informed consent from patients prior to procedures, adhering to Trust policies and ensuring annual update of consent training.
- Provide patients and carers with appropriate health education pre- and post-procedure, utilizing highly specialized knowledge.
- Undertake or be undertaking a formal approved course in endoscopy training recognized by JAG, maintaining competency and knowledge required for this role.
- Prescribe medication as defined in the PGD framework.
Essential Qualifications:
- Registered Practitioner with current NMC registration.
- Experience of teaching/mentorship with recognized qualification.
- Educated to Degree Level or equivalent.
- Evidence of continuing clinical and professional development.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Relevant postgraduate qualification.
- Attendance on a leadership programme or equivalent.
- Completion of Nurse prescribing course.
Essential Experience:
- Experience working within an Endoscopy setting or related/relevant care setting.
- Experience of working in partnership with the MDT.
- Experience of clinical audit and research.
- Knowledge and understanding of JAG, JETS, and GRS accreditation requirements.
- Multi-professional working.
- Clinical expertise within the speciality.
Personal Skills:
- Effective managerial, leadership, and motivation skills.
- People management skills.
- IT competent using word and excel and hospital programmes including ICE, iPM, and Solus.
- Able to initiate and develop evidence-based practice.
- Ability to relate theory to practice.
- Ability to work autonomously.
- Excellent time management and prioritization skills.
- Venepuncture & Cannulation skills.
- Excellent verbal and non-verbal communication skills.
Desirable Personal Skills:
- Advanced communication skills - breaking bad news etc.
