We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Production Engineer to join our client in Northampton, who is a leader in the engineering, motorsport, and automotive sector. This exciting opportunity involves working on innovative projects, including CNC programming and new part introduction, within a dynamic and supportive team.
About the Role
The successful candidate will be involved in the development of CNC programs for advanced 4 & 5 axis machines and multi-axis turn-mills using various software packages. They will also develop precision CNC grinding programs for specialized grinding machines.
Main Responsibilities
- Develop and manage the timely release of new products into production, ensuring budget-conscious delivery.
- Estimate production timelines and costs accurately.
- Coordinate with departments to ensure seamless transitions from design to production, including rapid prototypes.
- Work with the supply chain to identify potential cost reduction opportunities.
Requirements
- Proven experience in machining complex components within the automotive or aerospace sectors.
- Hold a relevant engineering qualification (Degree or minimum HNC).
- Proficient in CAD/CAM systems (preferably NX12 or equivalent).
- Experience with ERP systems.
- Knowledge of machining and inspection techniques.
- Strong problem-solving skills with a methodical approach to root cause analysis.
