About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Healthcare Assistant to join our team at Dartford and Gravesham NHS Trust. As a key member of our surgical pre-operative assessment team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth preparation of adult patients for their surgical admission.
Key Responsibilities
- Undertake a range of investigations to assess patient fitness for surgery, including obtaining patient observations, ECGs, blood samples, urine samples, and MRSA/Candida Auris swabs.
- Work collaboratively with the nursing team to provide high-quality patient care, maintaining a stable and safe environment.
- Provide clerical support to trained nurses in the clinical area, including answering telephone enquiries, filing, and preparing medical notes.
- Develop strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients, pre-operative assessment staff, and the multi-professional team.
Person Specification
- Word processing/IT skills
- Previous knowledge of HCA role
- Previous experience of HCA role
- Flexible and adaptable
