About the Role:

We are seeking a Personal Mentor for Young People to join our team at Teaching Personnel. This full-time role involves working with students in an Ofsted-rated "Good" secondary school in Chorlton-cum-Hardy.

About the Position:

The successful candidate will work closely with students to develop confidence, resilience, and positive attitudes towards school and their future. They will also provide support to students, particularly those facing challenges that may impact their learning.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Mentorship: Provide individual mentorship to students, offering guidance on academic, social, and emotional issues, and helping them set and achieve personal goals.
  • Behaviour Support: Work closely with students to address behavioural concerns, fostering positive behavioural strategies and helping them manage their actions within the school setting.
  • Engagement Activities: Organise and lead activities that promote engagement, teamwork, and self-expression, which may include lunchtime clubs, group discussions, or special projects.

Requirements:

  • A background in youth work, social work, or education is beneficial.
  • Familiarity with safeguarding policies is essential.
