A leading Religious Society in Hammersmith is looking for a Finance and Admin Assistant to take charge of its day-to-day finance operations.

About the Position

This role involves overseeing all transactional processes, supporting payroll, budgets, and other financial administrative tasks while collaborating with colleagues.

  1. Main Duties:
  2. Process transactions, including purchase ledger, nominal ledger, payroll journals, general journals, bank posting; and assist in resolving related issues.
  3. Coordinate banking activities within the Society, as directed by the Operations Manager and CEO.
  4. Support our accountant in managing budgets, and assist non-financial managers in interpreting, preparing, and monitoring related financial information.
  5. Assist Sisters in using financial systems and tools, and collaborate with managers to resolve issues.
  6. Oversee utility contracts, ensuring timely payments according to the Society's policies.
  7. Ensure adherence to internal financial procedures and policies.
  8. Attend and minute meetings, including finance and investment meetings.
Essential Skills
  • Ability to handle a significant financial function.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including supporting colleagues with limited IT and finance knowledge.
  • Proven expertise in MS Office applications, particularly Word and Excel.
