The NHS is seeking an experienced Older Adult Care Lead to join our team in Birmingham. This role requires a strong background in geriatric medicine and experience working in secure mental health settings.

Responsibilities:
  • Medical Leadership:
    • Provide leadership and direction to multidisciplinary teams, ensuring high-quality care for older adult patients in secure inpatient mental health settings.
    • Develop and implement care plans that address both physical and mental health needs of patients.
    • Oversee the delivery of evidence-based geriatric care to improve physical health and overall well-being of older adults with mental health conditions.
  • Clinical Governance:
    • Participate in clinical governance activities, including audits, quality improvement initiatives, and service development, targeting needs of geriatric population in secure care.
    • Contribute to development and implementation of policies and protocols related to geriatric care within mental health secure setting.
    • Ensure adherence to professional standards and guidelines in provision of geriatric care.
  • Team Management:
    • Lead and manage a team of healthcare professionals, nurses, and support staff, focusing on care of older adults in secure settings.
    • Provide supervision, training, and mentorship to junior medical staff and other team members, promoting best practices in geriatric care.

Estimated Salary: £90,000 - £120,000 per annum, depending on experience.
