Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Regional Digital Midwife to join our team at NHS England. As a key member of our digital transformation team, you will play a critical role in delivering an effective service supporting managers and staff across the East of England region.

Main Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Providing maternity advice and guidance to facilitate improvements in service quality, delivery, and outcomes
  • Leading the development of a regional maternity dashboard and monitoring framework to identify themes and opportunities for quality improvement
  • Providing professional expertise to support the development of business processes for the Department or Directorate
  • Defining current processes, facilitating discussions, and advising colleagues on best practice for future processes
  • Developing and delivering information sharing systems to support the acquisition, organisation, provision, and use of knowledge and information
  • Highlighting exceptions and risks, ensuring mitigating action is taken
  • Drafting reports summarising status on issues, appraising outcomes, and providing progress reports for the Head of the Department
  • Collating qualitative and quantitative information and leading analysis to develop robust business cases and contribute to the delivery of product and service improvement
  • Analysing, interpreting, and presenting data to highlight issues, risks, and support decision-making
  • Planning, developing, and evaluating methods and processes for gathering, analysing, interpreting, and presenting data and information
  • Delivering projects to comply with key performance indicators and best practice guidance
  • Coordinating Research & Development initiatives, delegating as appropriate
  • Ensuring projects, services, and initiatives are delivered on time, to quality standards, and in a cost-effective manner, adjusting plans as required

Person Specification

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Education to Masters level or equivalent work experience at senior level
  • Qualified Midwife
  • Highly developed communication skills with the capability to analyse, review, and make sense of highly complex, sensitive, or contentious information across a diverse range of subjects relevant to the post portfolio
  • Current knowledge of healthcare policy relating to digital maternity and experience of facilitating implementation
  • Experience of working as a senior midwife at regional and sub-regional level
  • Extensive knowledge of specialist areas, via PG Diploma or equivalent or training/special knowledge or experience to Masters level
