About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Compliance Officer to join our team at Uniting People. As a key member of our compliance team, you will provide timely and accurate regulatory advice, risk reporting, and compliance monitoring to ensure the business remains compliant with industry regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Provide support to the Head of Compliance in the provision of regulatory advice and risk reporting
  2. Act as lead in compliance monitoring, including customer journey reviews and key risk/control reviews
  3. Respond to client audits and information requests in a timely manner
  4. Log and document events, their potential impacts, and key considerations
  5. Collaborate with the Head of Compliance in regulatory gap analysis and advisory activities
  6. Provide SME support to the business on internal projects
  7. Assist with breach and incident investigations

Requirements:

  • 2+ years' experience in a compliance role within an FCA-regulated firm
  • Working knowledge of regulation and guidance, including FCA, Data Protection, OFCOM, CCA, and CSA Code of Practice
  • Recognized compliance qualification desirable
  • Knowledge of the wider finance industry, including retail lending and credit reporting, desirable
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with adaptability
  • Able to remain calm under pressure and respond to challenging demands
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Attention to detail with high standards

Salary: £45,000 - £60,000 per annum (dependent on experience)
