Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage a team of staff to provide high-quality care and support to children in our residential setting.
  • Develop and maintain a child-centered environment that promotes the physical, emotional, social, and intellectual well-being of children.
  • Allocate, prioritize, and monitor the work of the team to ensure effective delivery of services.
  • Safeguard and promote the welfare of resident children, encouraging positive behavior and managing challenging behavior.
  • Work with partners and agencies to ensure the coordination and delivery of integrated services to improve outcomes for cared-for children and young people.
  • Maintain effective record-keeping systems to provide reports as required.
  • Lead on policy development, planning, and implementation for the home, liaising with professionals and stakeholders.
  • Take overall responsibility for managing delegated budgets and seeking partnership funding to support individual care plans.
  • Delegate responsibility to staff to keep computerized care plans, reports, and assessments for each child/young person.
  • Respond to and ensure appropriate action is taken following internal and external inspections, audits, complaints, and investigations.
  • Represent the service and liaise with statutory bodies, key local bodies, inspection bodies, and other professionals.
  • Have a confident understanding of legislation, statutory requirements, departmental policies, and other regulations and procedures.
  • Oversee the recruitment, induction, development, and management of staff to ensure high standards of competence and attendance.
  • Take responsibility for own professional development and participate in supervision, appraisal, and training events.
