We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced individual to lead the Diagnostic and Fusion Engineering Group. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing a team of Project Engineers working on electro-mechanical diagnostics for both UK and international fusion machines.

Your expertise will enable the group to deliver high-quality results within agreed timeframes, ensuring alignment with quality standards and project deadlines. Key responsibilities include agreeing personal development plans, setting objectives, and providing job performance feedback, as well as implementing techniques and methods to improve quality and delivery.

You will work closely with the Plasma Sensors and Control Unit to align departmental planning and agree long-term priorities and budgets. Additionally, you will support the development of commercial opportunities related to the DFE group's capabilities and product line.

We are looking for a candidate with proven leadership experience, particularly in team and project management of engineering/technology work. A degree or equivalent experience in a relevant engineering field, such as mechanical engineering or precision engineering, is essential. The ideal candidate should possess excellent communication skills, the ability to motivate and use resources efficiently, and experience delivering key engineering/technology milestones within agreed timeframes.

This role is based at our Culham site in Oxfordshire, and we offer a competitive salary of £67,023 (inclusive of Market Premium Payment) plus excellent benefits, including a vibrant culture committed to equality and being fully inclusive.
