About the Role

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced academic to join our team as a Postgraduate Education Specialist. As a key member of our postgraduate education team, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality teaching and learning experiences for our students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To design and deliver engaging teaching activities that support student learning and achievement;
  • To set and mark formative and summative assessments that provide constructive feedback and evaluation;
  • To act as a supervisor for postgraduate programmes and provide academic and pastoral support to students as a personal tutor;
  • To contribute to the planning, design, and development of aims, objectives, and learning outcomes on appropriate programmes;
  • To identify areas where current provision is in need of revision or improvement and design and develop new teaching materials;
  • To maintain scholarly and/or research activity and contribute to the department's research profile.

Requirements:

  • A PhD (completed or close to completion) in a relevant field or significant relevant experience;
  • An undergraduate degree or equivalent Level 6 qualification in a relevant discipline;
  • Membership of the relevant UK regulatory/professional body (e.g., doctor, pharmacist, nurse, or other allied healthcare professional);
  • Experience of collaborative working in multidisciplinary settings such as community, hospital, or primary care;
  • Proven ability to disseminate conceptual and complex ideas to a variety of audiences;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, good interpersonal skills, and ability to create excellent working relationships;
  • Ability to work effectively on your own initiative and as part of a team, with excellent organisational and planning skills;
  • Commitment to reflective practice, Continuing Professional Development, and issues related to equality, diversity, and inclusion.

Salary: £60,000 - £80,000 per annum
