Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Road Infrastructure Inspector to join our team at Essential Employment. This is a temporary ongoing contract, initially raised for 3 months.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in road infrastructure maintenance and a good understanding of regulatory frameworks such as the New Roads and Street Works Act 1991, Traffic Management Act 2004, Highways Act 1980, Permit Scheme Regulations 2008, London Permit Scheme.

Responsibilities:

  1. Carry out regular site visits to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  2. Risk assess all defects found and prioritize for repair.
  3. Identify, register, issue, and maintain a record of repairs necessary to maintain the Public Highway.
  4. Enforce the compliance & CoP's aspects of NRSWA, LoPS, and the TMA, including the issuing of Fixed Penalty Notices related to the London Permit Scheme.
  5. Ensure Section 74 Charge compliance, Section 72 reinstatement defect compliance, and Section 50 planning & compliance to maximize conformity under the Acts.

Salary: £31,500 - £33,000 per annum (Umbrella PAYE), depending on experience.

Requirements:

  • Strong background in road infrastructure maintenance.
  • Good understanding of regulatory frameworks such as the New Roads and Street Works Act 1991, Traffic Management Act 2004, Highways Act 1980, Permit Scheme Regulations 2008, London Permit Scheme.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively with stakeholders.
