Job Title: Autism Support Teaching Assistant

Protocol National Limited is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Autism Support Teaching Assistant to join our team at a specialist school in North Manchester. The successful candidate will have experience supporting young people or adults with complex needs, particularly those with Autism, SEMH, and other special educational needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students with complex needs, including Autism, SEMH, and other special educational needs
  • Work collaboratively with the teaching team to develop and implement individualized education plans
  • Provide emotional support and guidance to students, promoting their social, emotional, and academic well-being
  • Assist with the development and implementation of behavior management strategies
  • Communicate effectively with parents, carers, and other professionals to ensure a cohesive approach to supporting students

Requirements:

  • Experience of supporting complex needs in young people or adults
  • Training and experience with Moving & Handling and PEG feeding is an advantage but not essential
  • Experience of working with challenging behaviors and de-escalation techniques
  • Understanding of the needs of students with Autism and other special educational needs
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team

Working Hours:

  • Monday to Friday, 08:30 to 15:30 (hours are non-negotiable)
  • Term-time only

Temporary/Permanent:

  • Temporary initially, filling absences or recruitment gaps
  • Long-term ongoing with the opportunity to apply for permanent jobs if you impress
