Job Title: Control & Instrumentation Engineer

Astute Technical is seeking a highly skilled Control & Instrumentation Engineer to join our team at a Gas Storage facility in Hampshire. The successful candidate will have a strong background in process control systems and instrumentation, with experience in designing and implementing new systems and ensuring compliance with industry regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Develop project work scopes and schedules for the Engineering Department, identifying areas for recommended plant improvement.
  2. Design and implement new process control systems and safety systems as part of capital projects.
  3. Take financial responsibility for small single-function C&I projects.
  4. Ensure instrumentation hazardous area design and installation is carried out in accordance with industry regulations.
  5. Provide technical support to operations, including diagnosis, root cause analysis, and implementation of remedial work required to ensure control system availability and integrity.
  6. Provide leadership, direction, and supervision to C&I Technicians.
  7. Ensure that all documentation and certification is in place for the installed facilities and that they fully comply with the statutory legislative and regulatory requirements with respect to the C&I discipline.
Requirements:
  1. A degree in a relevant Electronics, Control System/Automation or Instrumentation engineering field, or equivalent experience.
  2. IOSH or NEBOSH or similar in Health & Safety.
Personal Skills:
  1. At least five years supervisory experience in the Oil & Gas / COMAH / Chemical or similar industry.
  2. Experience working on PLC application software and AutoCAD.
