About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated Mechanical Engineer to join our team at HMP Lewes, a CAT B Mens Prison. This role offers a unique opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment where no two days are the same.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert mechanical engineering support to maintain the smooth operation of the prison's facilities.
  • Collaborate with experienced colleagues from various trade backgrounds to ensure a safe and secure environment for all.
  • Work on commercial or industrial heating and water systems, adhering to Water Supply Regulation and Control of Legionella L8 requirements.
Requirements
  • Minimum of two years' experience working in a role as a plumber or equivalent.
  • Familiarity with health and safety requirements, including relevant certifications such as C&G 6035 (Plumbing), C&G 6189 (Plumbing and heating) and NVQ level 3 in Plumbing or equivalent.
  • Good understanding of building services and maintenance procedures.
